How SpendRadar Protects Your Bank Data

Last updated: July 10, 2026

Linking a bank account to any app is an act of trust. This page explains, in plain English, how bank linking works in SpendRadar and why your money and your login stay safe.

Your login never touches SpendRadar

Bank connections are powered by Plaid, the same service used by apps like Venmo and Chime to connect thousands of apps to thousands of financial institutions. When you link a bank, you sign in on your bank's own page through Plaid — SpendRadar never sees or stores your bank username or password. We only receive a secure access token, which cannot be used to log in to your bank. See Plaid's end-user privacy policy.

Read-only by design

SpendRadar requests only transaction and balance data from Plaid. We can see your balances and transactions to build your dashboard — we can never move money, make payments, or change anything at your bank.

How we store and transmit data

Family sharing, honestly

SpendRadar is a family spending tracker, and sharing is opt-in. Your transactions and balances become visible to your family group's admin only after you join that family with an invite code — that's how family tracking works. Nothing is ever visible outside your own family group.

You stay in control

From the app you can unlink a bank, erase your financial data while keeping your account, or permanently delete your account — which also revokes your linked-bank connections at Plaid. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or financial information.
