SpendRadar Privacy Policy

SpendRadar ("we", "us", "the app") is a personal and family spending tracker.
This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices
you have. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, and a
securely hashed password. Each account belongs to a "family" group you create
or join with an invite code.
- Financial information (via Plaid) — when you link a bank,
our provider Plaid Inc. returns your account names, account types, masked
account numbers, balances, and transaction history (amounts, dates, merchant
names, and categories). You may also add your own notes and category overrides
to transactions.
- Usage and device information — a device push-notification
token (if you enable notifications) and basic technical logs used to operate
and secure the service.
We never see or store your bank login credentials. Those are entered directly
with Plaid and your bank; we only receive a secure access token, which is
encrypted at rest.
How we use your information
- To show your linked accounts, balances, transactions, budgets, and spending alerts.
- To detect recurring subscriptions, budget overruns, and unusual activity, and
to send you related notifications.
- To let an admin member view the spending of others in their own family group
(this is the core "family" feature — only members of your own family can see
your data).
- To send transactional emails such as email verification and password resets.
- To secure the service, prevent abuse, and diagnose errors.
How your information is shared
We share data only with the service providers that make the app work, and only
as needed:
- Plaid Inc. — connects your bank accounts and provides
transaction and balance data. See

- Railway — hosts our application servers and database.
- Resend — delivers our transactional emails.
- Apple (APNs) — delivers push notifications to your device.
- Sentry — collects error diagnostics to help us fix bugs.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or financial information to third
parties. We may disclose information if required by law.
Data security
Passwords are stored using strong one-way hashing (bcrypt). Bank access tokens
are encrypted at rest with AES-256. One-time verification codes are hashed and
expire quickly. All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit
(HTTPS).

Data retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You are in control:
- Delete financial data — from the app you can unlink banks
and erase your transactions, budgets, subscriptions, and alerts while keeping
your account.
- Delete your account — from the app you can permanently
delete your account. This revokes your linked-bank connections at Plaid and
permanently removes your associated data from our systems.
An admin of your family group may also remove a member, which permanently
deletes that member's account and data and revokes their bank connections.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete
your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You can exercise the
core of these rights directly in the app, or contact us using the details below.
Children's privacy
SpendRadar is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect
personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected
by the "Last updated" date above.
